Buying a Lake Home – Famous Lakeside Towns You Can Truly Afford!

Posted by techceptionpk_admin on April 11, 2022

Do you have that last-day-of-vacation, can’t-wait-for-it-to-be-over feeling? Here’s how to get rid of it for good! Buying a lake home. It doesn’t even require a large budget. There are several cheap lakefront communities around the United States. We looked at the topmost-searched lakefront zip codes with at least 25% vacation properties and discovered some charming tiny villages where your vacation may go as long as you want that to.

1- Kauneonga Lake, New York

Flower-filled gardens surround White Lake at Kauneonga Lake, a hamlet in the artistic town of Bethel (renowned as the site of Woodstock). The Children’s Peace Garden is a significant area for families to visit, and Kauneonga Lake’s modest restaurant row has a range of local cafes, pubs, and bistros. Barrio Kitchen is famous for its inventive drinks and stunning lake sights from the balcony.

A two-bedroom, two-bathroom home along restaurant row will cost you back $599,000, but a three-bedroom cabin close to the water in the White Lake Homes community would set you back $174,900.

2- Buying A Lake Home Near Golden, Missouri

Golden is at the Missouri-Arkansas border, between three prominent getaways: Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Branson, Missouri, and Table Rock Lake. You won’t find the hordes who go to such sites in Golden, so the inhabitants have the stunning scenery of the lake all to themselves. The Golden Pioneer Museum, an interesting tourist stop featuring minerals, cultural items, and glow-in-the-dark glass, is the town’s main tourist attraction.

While the usual asking price for Golden is $369,544, there are many possibilities both above and below that figure. If you’re looking for a magnificent split-level four-bedroom, two-bath house, it would cost you nearly $199,900. They’re frequently created with woodsy elements that complement the rural surroundings.

3- Buy A Lake Home Near Streetman, Texas

Streetman, located just one hour and Fifteen minutes southeast of Dallas, is a great weekend getaway spot because of Richland Chambers Reservoir, Texas’ third biggest lake. There are no pubs or restaurants here, so it’s truly a place to escape from it all. The nearest is Fairfield, 15 minutes southeast.

Although there are a few private homes around the lakeside, the village of Streetman remains peaceful and unpretentious. With a median listing price of $272,981, it’s also cheap. For example, for $235,000, you can have a 1,350-square-foot two-bedroom handcrafted cottage on ten acres near the sea.

4- Crane Lake, Minnesota

Crane Lake has you covered if your preferred lakeside lifestyle is a little more sociable. Even though only 125 people live here full-time, the Canadian border hamlet attracts hundreds of visitors during the summer to the resorts and camping sites around the 3,088-acre lake’s beaches.

Many families have been visiting for decades since it’s the type of location where all are up for a discussion. Social life, predictably, is not centered on going out. The lake is the focus here, with everything from inflatable vessels to surfboards to houseboats on display.

5- Buy A Lake Home Near Wedowee, Alabama

Lake Wedowee, located 88 miles southwest of Atlanta, is one of Alabama’s best-kept secrets.  The water is incredibly clear, the trees along the coast are lush, and views of bald eagles are common. The abundance of bluegill, goldfish, crappie, yellow perches, sunfish, and many varieties of bass attracts anglers. However, the region is as quiet as it gets without being isolated.

If fishing isn’t your thing, there’s also kayaking, waterskiing, boating, and lounging in a hammock.

6- Buying A Lake Home Near Wentworth, South Dakota

It won’t be long until everyone in Wentworth, a little incorporated community about 40 mins away from Sioux Falls, knows your name. Wentworth, with a population of fewer than 200 people, has a tiny-town feel to it. It’s the type of area where neighbors watch out for one another. They host activities at the community barn, such as an annual Fourth of July pancake breakfast. Lake Madison is a drive away from the village. It provides excellent fishing and a variety of activities, such as visiting The Broadwater Bar or The Lakes Bar & Grill.

In Wentworth, there’s a house for every budget, whether you’re looking for a four-bedroom modern waterfront property with walls of glass and its own beachfront for $850,000 or a quaint two-bedroom cottage for $750,000.
